At Home Abroad

Today as I was reading about Third Culture Kids I found this great article about a girl who spent part of her developing years in Indonesia:

Although it’s an old article (2002), some of the references to Indonesia made me chuckle and I couldn’t help but wonder how many of these experiences will be shared by Evan and Joshua. I wonder what Evan will say when they ask him where he’s from. We say he was “Made in Germany” with American and Mexican parts and manufactured in Thailand… He has an American passport, a Mexican (but also proud American) mom, and a Thai birth certificate. And the list keeps getting longer!

In any case, the one thing he will know how to answer is how much his parents love him and how good God has been to us as a family for allowing us to stay together no matter what continent we may be in.
