Find: Sarinah Department Store

May 6, 2012 in Expat Life, Jakarta 3 Comments

I had previously visited the Sarinah Department Store when we first moved here. This is the first department store in Jakarta and although it is quite old, it has a decent variety of products ranging from clothes and makeup to sport gear, office supplies and DVDs. I think of this as normal now, but I … Continue reading →

Our Packages are Ready for the World Wide Cultural Exchange

May 3, 2012 in Family, Kids 6 Comments

In turn, we receive boxes from the same kids we sent packages to and learn … Continue reading →

After doing some research, we … Continue reading →

A big belly, an 18 month old and a visit to Yogya

February 23, 2012 in Family, Travel 5 Comments

We had the opportunity to visit Yogyakarta (Yogya) for a week last summer. We were there taking an intensive one week-long language class and I must say I enjoyed touring the city as much as I enjoyed learning bits and pieces of Bahasa Indonesia and Indonesian Culture. I was about 5 months pregnant at the … Continue reading →
