I’ve given you a glimpse at what my life has been like the past few weeks. I have felt a bit unsettled and out of touch with blogging and with life in general. We were gone for about three months and came back to Jakarta only to find our routine as we knew it had drastically changed. The kids changed levels in their different schools so I had to work around the new schedule to find a new routine for the boys. We loved having my dad in Jakarta and got to travel to Singapore and Bali with him.
With all this, came new suitcases, new classes to work around and mostly a lack of a consistent schedule. It’s been a month since we got home and I can finally say I finished unpacking both my suitcases and my mind. The boys have started new classes and Evan started a new school. I started going to a bible-study which has been touching my heart and spirit in many ways and is just what I needed in this time of my life. All these changes have triggered something in me and I’m praying for a fresh start in many areas of my life.We are finally back on track and again I am finally starting to feel like I’ve gotten my vibe back.
In the next few weeks you might notice a few changes in the Blog, the good kind, I would hope so. I recently enrolled in the Blogging Your Way Boot Camp by Holly Becker of decor8 as I was looking for inspiration for my blog. After taking a look at all the themes they covered I knew this is what I needed to get back on blogging track. My good friend Kaho from Chuzai Living had recommended I took the class with her since she had done it before and had gotten so much from it. I signed up very excited to learn more about this hobby of mine and to meet new people in the blogsphere so to say.
You might notice a few posts that differ a bit from what I usually write about since I will be diligently doing my homework assignments (that is if Evan doesn’t decide to come into our beds three times a night like the past few weeks and leaves me in a vegetative state the day after…) I hope these are a fun way for you guys to get to know me a little bit better and for Stumble Abroad to find the voice it lost for a few months. That being said, I will still be posting about our long-overdue European vacation, a few more tips for traveling with kids in Bali and a many new Jakarta finds. I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you guys!
So glad I stumbled (hehe) on your blog from the BYW homework assignment forum. My father grew up in Java, and I recently took my husband to Bali. Glad to connect, and looking forward to more content!
Hi Becca! Thanks for dropping by!!! I fell in love with your blog at first sight! I’m already planning on doing some potato-stamping projects with Evan! Java is full of surprises and I feel so blessed to be able to raise my family here, at least for two more years. I look forward to new wholesome recipes from the Dabblist!!!
So excited to see the results of the blogging workshop and can’t wait to read your posts and see what you come up with, what a great idea!
Thanks Dani! I signed up a while back and now I feel like it was just perfect timing. It is just about now that I need some inspiration and motivation! =)
I echo Dani’s comment. I’m excited to see the changes. One of the best parts of blogging (I think) is that it serves as a record/scrapbook of sorts documenting our journeys (physical and otherwise) in words, photographs, design and more.
Thanks Natasha! The blog is mainly a scrapbook of our lives overseas. I will love to come back and read about Evan’s escapades and Joshua’s smiles. I don’t think it will change much, I really am too busy to do that but at least I will try to re-focus and enjoy documenting our adventures even more.
Looking forward to learning from Holly, too!
Hope your travels were wonderful.
Wishing you all the best,
Mary (from BYW Bootcamp)
Hi Mary! Thanks for dropping by! See you at bootcamp! 😉
OMG, so many bloggers together. Must be lots of fun. Good luck Ana. Enjoy the camp.
Thanks!!! It is tons of fun and inviting to challenge ourselves and our blogs!
Despite your recent ‘funk’ you are still such a go-getter! New blog sounds exciting. Have fun with it!
Haha! Funk, exactly what I’m going thru right now… I don’t think I can invest too much time in making it all new but I will see if I can get a few changes going in…. How’s Laos???
