{JakartaForKids} Giggle the Fun Factory

June 22, 2012 in Jakarta, Kids 4 Comments

What a treat it was for Evan (and me) to spend a day (or a few hours) at the Giggle the Fun Factory in fX mall in Senayan. For starters, the fX mall has an amazing giant slide that goes from the 8th floor to the 2nd floor and is free to whoever spends 100,000 … Continue reading →

Lifestyle and Shopping in Jakarta

June 22, 2012 in Expat Life, Jakarta 4 Comments

Many people think all Expats lead lavish lifestyles full of luxuries and barely work. For the expats in Jakarta that is not the case. Long work hours and commutes make people in Jakarta think twice about going somewhere, but when they do they enjoy it to the fullest and make the most out of it. … Continue reading →

As we were driving home one day I spotted a window full of what seemed like glasses and plates. I asked the driver to pull over and I stumbled upon my now new favorite home ware store in Jakarta. {Jakarta} China Town: Sights, Sounds and Smells

June 18, 2012 in Jakarta 8 Comments

I recently visited Jakarta’s China Town, aka as Glodok. The sights, smells and sounds are still embedded on my mind. I have visited many China Towns around the globe but this one in particular was very unique. I would describe it as traditional beyond compare but modern in their mercantile practices. This is a place … Continue reading →

Moving season is at its peak. Everyone seems to be moving in, moving out or moving around! Moving is never easy and moving with kids is even more challenging. At the end it’s all worth it. I had been to Ismaya Group’s Social House a few times before for Brunch and dinner. Every time, I left satisfied and very full. We love their eggs Benedict and they have excellent sushi and fusion cuisine. The decor creates a very relaxed atmosphere while staying trendy and upbeat. They have a wonderful display of … Continue reading →
