People say you never know what you have until it’s gone. Right now I realize I didn’t appreciate the tropical weather we lived in for the past 5 years. As the winter in Virginia refuses to subside and we are yet again stuck home due to a snow day, I can’t help but dream of … Continue reading →

When we visited Mexico in 2013 we went on a long road trip from my hometown in Monterrey to Mexico City. In the midst of our drive we saw a sign stating “Discover San Luis Potosi” and a picture of people scuba diving. My first thought was how is that even possible?, San Luis is … Continue reading →

Last September, or should I say, the previous to last September, when we visited La Riviera Maya we had the opportunity to snorkel with the magnificent Whale Sharks. These creatures are just incredibly gentle and so gorgeous. I still can’t believe we were able to see so many. We were very lucky. Two days before … Continue reading →

Last summer’s vacation to Mexico was such a blessing. We were able to enjoy a little bit of everything Mexico has to offer. After a few days in Mexico City and Riviera Maya it was time for us to head back to Monterrey. To be completely honest I knew that my hubby wanted to visit the pyramids by Mexico City but I had avoided the subject and hoped he would kind of forget about it. After all, we … Continue reading →

{Mexico} Tulum with Kids

January 5, 2014 in Kids, Mexico, Travel 4 Comments

Our visit to the Riviera Maya wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to the Mayan ruins in the region. With so many options, so little time and so many kilograms worth of children to carry up the pyramids we chose to visit just one site: Tulum. Tulum is located about an hour from the … Continue reading →

Our visit to Mexico last summer was like no other before. This time we were determined to visit as many places as we could and to introduce the boys to my place of birth. After having a fabulous time visiting my parents and sister in Monterrey, we drove down to Mexico City. Since we started … Continue reading →

We are rookies when it comes to diving but it has become one of our favorite hobbies.Diving has not only become an amazing adventure where we explore the great blue and get to see nature at its purest but it has also become “our” thing. A bonding experience where words are no longer a viable … Continue reading →

Growing up in Monterrey I would get super excited whenever we had the opportunity to visit Mexico City. Although I was born in DF (Distrito Federal, aka Mexico City) we moved to Monterrey when I was 5 years old and every opportunity we had to visit DF we would seize. As a teenager I found … Continue reading →
