So this is Christmas…

December 20, 2012 in Expat Life, Family, Holidays, Jakarta, Kids 10 Comments

To be honest I get a little bit nostalgic during the Christmas season. Coming from a large extended family I’m used to big big Christmas dinners where two turkeys are barely enough to feed everyone. I’m used to waiting up until at least 10:00 pm to have dinner on Christmas eve, to wait until midnight … Continue reading →

A Week in Snapshots: ❊December 10-16,2012❊

December 16, 2012 in A Week in Snapshots, Expat Life, Family, Holidays, Jakarta, Kids, Party 2 Comments

My heart is aching for the families in Newtown, Connecticut. Every time I watch the news or read a new article about it I get a tear-eyed and try not to hug the boys too hard. I can’t believe something like this is happening, yet again. My thoughts and constant prayers go out to those … Continue reading →

MY BABY IS ONE YEAR OLD! That’s all that’s been on my mind all week. I can’t believe that just a few months ago I was holding a newborn baby in my arms. Joshua has been such as blessing and a wonderful addition to our family. Everything about him, from us thinking he was a … Continue reading →

A Week in Snapshots: ❊November 19-25,2012❊

November 25, 2012 in A Week in Snapshots, Expat Life, Family, Holidays, Jakarta 2 Comments

A week in snapshots is finally back, or at least for now until Santa starts getting busy and preparing for Christmas! This week has certainly been a busy one. Then again, which week isn’t??? We celebrated Thanksgiving with good friends on Thursday and on the days before that and after I was either preparing for … Continue reading →

In All Things, Give Thanks

November 23, 2012 in Family, Holidays 11 Comments

Today I’m thankful for another year of life. I’m thankful that in these last 29 years (yes, last year in my twenties!) God has been faithful and been by my side every day. Today I’m thankful for my precious family. I’m thankful for my amazing husband and beautiful boys. I’m thankful for my family who … Continue reading →

Easter at the American Club

April 14, 2012 in Expat Life, Family, Holidays, Jakarta, Kids 1 Comment

As I’ve mentioned before, we try to keep our home traditions and holidays as much as possible. Easter was no exception and we were very lucky to be able to attend the Easter party at the American Club. I only took Evan to the party because daddy was out of town on a business trip … Continue reading →

A Week in Snapshots: ❊02/04/12-08/04/12❊

This week was a very long week. Daddy left on Monday for Surabaya and we had a long Easter weekend. Chasing two little boys around is not easy, we miss daddy! Both the kids caught colds and the heat and humidity didn’t help at all. However, this is all menial considering the great Sacrifice Jesus … Continue reading →

Easter Cereal Treats

March 23, 2012 in Family, Food, Holidays, Kids, Recipes 8 Comments

I’ve been trying to make special treats with holiday themes for the kids. Easter was no exception and I was lucky to find this recipe in my good friend Loren’s blog toddlejoy.com. It’s just a marshmallow cereal treat shaped as an egg. I loved how she used fruity pebbles. They are so colorful and perfect … Continue reading →

It’s not a Fiesta without a Piñata!

March 17, 2012 in Crafts, Family, Holidays, Party 4 Comments

Growing up in Mexico it wasn’t unusual to see a piñata at any party.  In fact, it was rather unusual not to see one, even at office parties or when kids were not the main guests to a party. When we were dating, I gave my husband a small piñata for his birthday. I just … Continue reading →

Getting Ready for Easter

March 14, 2012 in Family, Holidays, Home Decor 4 Comments

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Not only do I love the significance behind it: Jesus rose from the Grave!!! , but I love the colors and all the neat little accents you can play with. When we lived in Germany, every single department store would display a beautiful array of decorations and lots … Continue reading →
