{FoodFind} Brunch at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place

October 2, 2012 in Expat Life, Food, Jakarta, Restaurant 4 Comments

As a special occasion marking my dad’s last weekend in Jakarta we decided to give the Jakarta Brunch Scene another try. We had previously done Brunch at the Four Seasons Hotel and had left as satisfied customers. This time we shopped around for a different venue and headed to the Ritz Carlton in Pacific Place … Continue reading →

{JakartaFind} Martinis at the Darmawangsa Hotel

July 3, 2012 in Jakarta, Restaurant 12 Comments

Several good friends from AWA got together last week to enjoy good drinks and even better company. The perfect ingredient for a ladies night out has to be chocolate, right? The Darmawangsa hotel offers it in the form of a martini. I had never been there before but had heard very good reviews from many … Continue reading →

FoodFind: Social House

June 11, 2012 in Food, Jakarta, Restaurant 9 Comments

I had been to Ismaya Group’s Social House a few times before for Brunch and dinner. Every time, I left satisfied and very full. We love their eggs Benedict and they have excellent sushi and fusion cuisine. The decor creates a very relaxed atmosphere while staying trendy and upbeat. They have a wonderful display of … Continue reading →

My husband and I, and sometimes Evan, love Indian food. I had never really been into Indian food until we moved to Thailand and my husband encouraged me to try some different Indian dishes. After we moved to Jakarta we had a hard time finding a place we really liked since many of the better … Continue reading →

Surabaya: Getting there, Staying there

Surabaya: Getting there, Staying there

April 23, 2012 in Family, Restaurant, Travel 5 Comments

Getting There I can’t complain of my first experience flying alone with the two kids. Although it was a very short flight I was a little bit concerned on how they, or rather I, would deal with it. We flew Garuda Indonesia since we’ve had several bad experiences with Air Asia Indonesia. The service … Continue reading →

Find: Epicentrum Walk

April 8, 2012 in Family, Jakarta, Kids, Restaurant Leave a comment

Sometimes living in a concrete jungle has its advantages. The shopping malls tend to be amazing. One of the nicest shopping centers I’ve seen in Jakarta thus far has to be Epicentrum Walk.  I found this little shopping center about two weeks ago as I was attempting to buy tickets for Disney on Ice and … Continue reading →
